DGI E-Invoicing Compliance Phases

The Direction Générale des Impôts (DGI) in Algeria is rolling out e-invoicing in phases, initially targeting public contract suppliers and expanding to all taxpayers by 2026. Each phase specifies a compliance deadline, with voluntary adoption since 2023 and mandatory requirements pending. Details are still developing as of March 2025. Here’s the projected list:

Phase 1: January 1, 2023

Taxpayers supplying public entities must optionally integrate their e-invoicing systems with DGI’s platform.

Phase 2: January 1, 2026

Large and medium-sized taxpayers must mandatorily integrate their e-invoicing systems with DGI’s platform.

Phase 3: July 1, 2026

All remaining VAT-registered taxpayers must integrate their e-invoicing systems with DGI’s platform.
