A simplified tax invoice is an official document a seller gives to a buyer in Saudi Arabia when selling goods or services worth less than 1,000 Saudi Riyals (SAR) and subject to value-added tax (VAT). It proves the sale happened and shows the tax amount owed.
For example, if you sell something for less than 1,000 SAR, you issue this invoice with a unique number. You’d use it for:
-
-
- Sales between businesses and buyers.
- Goods or services with or without VAT.
- Importing or exporting goods/services with or without VAT.
- Keeping tax records.
-
-
-
- The issue date.
- A unique number for each invoice (no duplicates).
- The seller’s name, exactly as in the e-invoicing system.
- The seller’s tax registration number.
- A general description of the goods or services (e.g., name, quantity, unit price, tax rate, taxable amount, discount, tax amount, subtotal).
- The total amount with tax.
- The total amount without tax.
- To be written in Arabic.
